The confinement of nature to framed wall images symbolizes the severing of our bond with the living world—freedom and the life cycle reduced to the silence of the interior. The Gelenet series deepens this rupture, tracing how the cultural meanings of meat have shifted into a mere object of consumption. Women and animals, under the dominance of the “man-human,” appear both sacred and easily dismissed. In the gaze of the figures on the tapestries, the fragment of meat exposes both the framing of nature and the lethal gaze of patriarchal violence.
