Mastürbasyon Serisi/Masturbation Series

Sanatçı, mastürbasyon yapan kadın imgelerini, kadını cinsel nesneye
dönüştürmeden, arzulayan bir birey olarak tasvir ediyor. Kendisini izleyen
voyeur bir göze karşı ya da o göz için değil, kendisi için zevk almakta olan
kadınlar, pasif konumda olmaya direnerek bu sahnelerde bir anlamda
sahiplendikleri cinsel arzularıyla tabulara da isyan etmiş oluyor.
Mekânsız bir kompozisyona yerleştirilen kadınları çevreleyen floral
desenler bir taraftan cinselliğin doğaya aitliğini vurgularken diğer taraftan
kadın bedeninin reklam malzemesi olarak öne çıkarıldığı Art Nouveau
dönemi eserlerine göz kırpıyor.
MASTURBATION SERIES
The artist depicts images of women masturbating as a desiring individual,
without turning the woman into a sexual object. Women who enjoy
pleasure for themselves, not against or for a voyeur eye watching them,
resist being in a passive position and, in a sense, rebel against taboos with
their sexual desires in these scenes.
Floral patterns surrounding women placed in a spaceless composition, on
the one hand, emphasize the belonging of sexuality to nature, and on the
other hand, wink at the works of the Art Nouveau period, where the female
body is highlighted as advertising material
