Naaile
Pelda Aytaş’ın Naaile serisi, kadın bedeni, aile yapısı ve geleneksel
kadın rollerine yönelik feminist bir sorgulama sunuyor. Sergi adını hem “maaile”
kalıbının ironik bir ters yüz edilişinden hem de “muradına ermiş kadın” anlamına
gelen Naile isminden alıyor. Bu anlam, kadının muradını ancak evlilikle
bulabileceği inancını yüceltir. Bunun aksine seri, kadınların muradını kendi
bedenlerinde, arzularında ve kırılganlıklarında aradığı bir alandır.
Sanatçı, seride hem dilin hem kültürün dayattığı “kutsal aile” imgesine karşı,
ironik ve politik bir yerden seslenir. Ve “Na” (hayır) der. Ne aileyiz, ne de aileden
sayılan o sınırlar içindeyiz. Kadın cinselliğinin bastırılması, anneliğin
yüceltilmesi, heteronormatif çekirdek ailenin makbul tek seçenek olarak
sunulması gibi normatif anlatılar bu seride parçalanır, dikiş yerlerinden konuşur.
Naaile
Pelda Aytaş's Naaile series offers a feminist interrogation of the female body, family
structure, and traditional female roles. The exhibition title derives from both an
ironic inversion of the "maaile" stereotype and the name Naile, meaning "woman
who has achieved her desire." In this sense, it celebrates the belief that women can
only find their desire through marriage. Conversely, the series is a space where
women seek their desire within their own bodies, desires, and vulnerabilities.
In the series, the artist addresses the "sacred family" imagery, both in language and
in value, from an ironic and political perspective. And she says, "Na" (no). We are
neither family, nor do we accumulate what is considered family. Normative
narratives such as the suppression of female sexuality, the glorification of
motherhood, and the heteronormative core concepts of the only acceptable option,
are torn apart in this series, speaking at the seams
